The "Love Makes Whole" Medical Mission Team marked its return to the Philippines in 2023, 14 years after its last visit. This year’s mission followed the success of last year’s efforts, bringing renewed hope to families in need. From November 18 to 21, the team provided life-changing medical care to 20 children from various parts of Mindanao at the United Davao Specialists Hospital and Medical Center, Inc.

Linus Lee, the deputy director of NCF International Cooperation Division, highlighted the milestone of the new service location in the Philippines. “Our seed doctors will provide the high-quality surgery and care for all the needy cleft patients in Davao area.” Dr. Dax Carlo Pascasio, an NCF Seed Doctor and leader of the Filipino medical team, encouraged families across the country to take advantage of the program. “Surgery is essential for better integration into society,” he emphasized, highlighting the long-term impact of cleft treatment.

Minister Dustin Teng-shi Yang, a representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, commended the mission led by Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation (NCF) in Taiwan. “The NCF provides holistic support, addressing the physical, psychological, social, and medical needs of patients with craniofacial deformities. Additionally, the NCF plays a crucial role in training medical professionals worldwide to expand its impact.”

“This is a great help, not only financially but also in addressing the medical needs of my son,” said Noemi Lorenzana from Tagum City, Davao del Norte. Her five-year-old child underwent surgery to correct multiple facial deformities, a life-changing step for their family.
