After years of effort, the Microtia Family Support Group was formally established in March 1999. With the enthusiastic support of parent volunteers, the young organization has continually expanded its services in hopes of shining brighter light into the lives of microtia sufferers and their families.

Services
1. Telephone Counseling Network

The telephone counseling network set up by Support Group volunteers provides microtia families with a forum through which to interact and exchange information with other parents, and to support one another and swap opinions and experiences on treatment, language, and parental duties.

2. Clinic Visitations

During clinic hours, parent volunteers share experiences and information on coping with microtia, providing emotional support and proper information to parents visiting the clinic for the first time.

3. Telephone Outreach

Parent volunteers make calls to check up on microtia families and understand their needs, providing emotional support and the latest information on medical lectures and support group activities.

4. Support Group Activities

Each year the Support Group hosts a variety of activities including medical lectures, family support meetings, and family activities. These events encourage interaction among afflicted families and help children afflicted with microtia to better adapt to society through broadened interpersonal relations.

5. Microtia Interactive Web

Our Web site at http://microtia.nncf.org gives microtia families rapid access to valuable medical information while providing a broader forum for open exchange.
