After two years¡¦ efforts on filming and editing, the operation syllabus named ¡§An Integrated Approach to the Primary Lip/Nasal Repair in the Bilateral Cleft Lip and Palate¡¨ has been published with our fervent expectations in October 2008. The authors are Philip K. T. Chen, M. D., M. Samuel Noordhoff, M. D., F.A.C.S., Yu-Fang Liao, DDS, PhD, Louise I-Ju Chen, DDS and Theresa Su-Yeh Chou, NSP. The operation syllabus consists of nasoalvelar molding, surgical operation and postoperative nursing care, which is quite useful for the surgeons and members of craniofacial team. The Surgical Technique for the Unilateral Cleft Lip-Nasal Deformity

This instructional DVD and syllabus package was produced by M. Samuel Noordhoff, M. D. in association with the Chang Gung Craniofacial Center in Taipei, Taiwan. Over 10,000 cases have been treated at the Center. The five craniofacial surgeons at the Center have over 80 years of combined experience. Dr. Noordhoff is an international recognized expert in cleft surgery and has performed surgery on cleft lip and nasal deformities for over 30 years.

The entire DVD was shot, by John B. Tebbetts, M. D., from the surgeon¡¦s perspective and provides the surgeon an exceptionally clear view of the surgical technique. This is an excellent tool for the experienced surgeon as well as residents, which presents new concepts emphasizing minimal dissection and eliminating incisions around the alar base.

This instructional package presents alternatives methods that allow the surgeon to tailor the operative procedure to the pathological deformity. The techniques are suitable for even the most different clefts.
